Financial Aid and Scholarships
UPEACE as a not-for-profit institution has limited funds for financial assistance. Therefore, we strive for balance, diverse class composition, and merit in distributing financial assistance among admitted students.
Regulations to Receive Financial Assistance in the UPEACE Online MA and individual online courses.
The prospective applicant has to be admitted to UPEACE in order to receive any possibility of financial assistance from the University.
- The financial assistance awarded is not negotiable.
NOTE: The waivers below are not automatic, but for limited number of seats based on decisions by the Programme Committee including merits of the application.
Financial Assistance Categories
50% Tuition Waiver for MA Programme
- Costa Rican citizen (Host country)
- UN Volunteers
- UN staff on the following levels
- General Service and related categories (G, TC, S, PIA, LT)
- National Professional Officers (NO)
- Field Service (FS)
30% Tuition Waivers for MA Programme
- UN staff on P level positions and higher
- Applicants who come from signatory countries of the International Agreement Establishing the University for Peace (see link below)
- Professors from a partner university (see list below)
- Applicants who are alumni of one of our partner universities (see list below)
30% Tuition Waivers for individual course-takers (ICTs)
- Costa Rican citizens
- UN staff (all levels) and UN Volunteers
- Applicants who come from signatory countries of the International Agreement Establishing the University for Peace (see link below)
- Professors from a partner university (see list below)
- Applicants who are alumni of one of our partner universities (see list below)
